All students in the State of Ohio qualify for the EdChoice Expansion Scholarship. It is an income based scholarship. The full amount of the scholarship for families at/below 450% of the federal poverty income level is $6,166 for K-8th students and $8,408 per high school student. The expansion scholarship designates families whose household income is at or below 450% of the federal poverty line as eligible for the full amount of the scholarship. Families with a higher household income are eligible for a prorated amount of the scholarship.

NOTE: The EdChoice Expansion Scholarships apply toward tuition only. School fees are still the responsibility of the family.

When to apply:

​Applications may be submitted after the student is enrolled in MCS for the next upcoming school year.

How to apply:

Students must first be enrolled in MCS. Once enrollment is completed, fill out an EdChoice Scholarship Request Form and submit it to Massillon Christian School along with a copy of the student's birth certificate and a current (within 60 days) utility bill showing both mailing and physical address.

Income verification:

The Ohio Department of Education uses an online Scholarship Income Verification System. The system is available for families to enter and submit their income information electronically to the Scholarship office for verification. Parents are able to enter household member information, income information and upload supporting income documents directly into the online system. You will need to Setup an OH|ID Account.

How will I know when my application has been received and processed?

The State of Ohio will notify families when applications are approved. This message will also contain information about your scholarship amount.

Do I need to do anything else after my application has been accepted?

Upon notification of approval from the State of Ohio, you will receive an acceptance form that must be completed and returned to Massillon Christian School. MCS will notify you if there are changes to this process.

Will I still have to pay anything to the school?

Yes, you will be responsible for any registration, class, athletic, or other fees. The scholarship only covers tuition up to the awarded amount.
